Carpet Cleaning Prices

Carpet cleaning companies employ diverse methods to price their services. Certain companies may provide a carpet cleaning price quote via the phone or online communication, while others opt to assess the carpet cleaning requirements firsthand. Some carpet cleaners will then establish costs by the number of rooms, whereas others will price by the square footage. Neither guarantees a superior value over the other.

When pricing by the room, considerations such as room type and maximum square footage come into play. Larger rooms maybe considered two, three or more rooms. Some carpet cleaning companies also discount per room prices if multiple rooms are cleaned simultaneously.  Square foot carpet cleaning pricing, on the other hand, is strictly measuring the square footage of the room to be cleaned and multiplying by the price per square foot. But this also is not always straight forward. Factors such as discounts for exceeding certain square footage or deductions for furniture in place can further complicate matters between carpet cleaners.

Additionally, most carpet cleaning services like to take into consideration various factors. Sometimes this means differing types and numbers of rooms. They may also take into consideration the soil level and spotting concerns. These factors and others may affect the amount of time and costs required to complete the services and some carpet cleaners will charge accordingly. This is also the case with the type of property to be cleaned. Is it a condominium, a commercial property, a house or some other type property? These all sometimes require more or less time and expense to complete and most carpet cleaning companies price accordingly.

Other carpet cleaning companies will charge surcharges for items which others will include in their standard pricing. Emergency, weekend and after hours cleaning are a few of additional costs some companies charge. If you live in a multi-floor building, a fee per floor may be charged for accessing different levels. When gas prices surged a few years ago, it was not uncommon for companies to assess gas or travel surcharges. Heck, we even had one building where parking was so limited it was impossible to work there without getting a parking ticket every time so we thought about adding a “parking ticket” surcharge. Some companies may!

Carpet cleaning prices may also reflect how the carpet is being cleaned. Some of this is in your control while other conditions are not.  The method of cleaning may be taken into consideration. Differing cleaning methods require differing time allotments. Likewise, some carpet cleaning methods are more costly in equipment, tools and supplies.
